7-Day Challenge | Monday Mindset

My brother recently took on a 7-day challenge to make a fresh new beat every day for one week. He took the challenge by the horns and rustled it to the ground with flying colors! I wasn’t surprised as my brother is the definition of a hard worker (and that worries me because he sometimes forgets to eat and doesn’t get enough rest). Nonetheless, he gave me the challenge to do something for my blog every day. What I did for my blog didn’t matter, as long as it was helping my career. 

My challenge was to take quality pictures every day. I went 4 days strong then slipped up on the fifth day(I was sick). It felt bad but I decided that I was going to continue the challenge, 6 days are better than none, right? Now I have pictures for my social media and blog prepared for a whole week, considering I only blog 2 to 3 times per week, that’s great! 

Now, I’m sending the challenge your way! I want YOU to come up with a 7-day challenge that is productive and healthy! It doesn’t have to relate to work. Your challenge can be to relax for 5 minutes per day, read for 20 minutes per day, pray every morning, eat one helping of veggies per day. Your challenge can literally be anything you want! Just make it productive and healthy! 

TAKING ON THE 7-DAY CHALLENGE

When my brother came to me with the challenge, at first I panicked. “There are so many things I can do for this!” “I can’t just choose one thing??” “Whats the most important thing to work on?” “Should I blog every day?” “Should I do this, should I do that?”

My mind was in a panic. 

Then I decided to start easy, something I know I can do every day and that would help my confidence and skills. So I chose to take pictures for the 7-day challenge! Putting a limit on your challenge can be helpful and if you’re better with detailed challenges, then go ahead and choose exactly what your challenge is going to be. For me, it’s not as easy. My blog is called Laqing In Creativity for a reason. I have a hard time getting my creativity out. That being said, I chose to just take pictures for my blog. Portrait photos, product photos, makeup photos, outdoor photos, stock photos. Any style that can be used for my blog. 

Luckily, I took some food pictures for a food post coming up, some makeup pictures, and even a few outdoor flower photos! 

STICKING TO THE 7-DAY CHALLENGE

Hopefully it isn’t too hard to stick to, however, if it’s easy was it really ever a challenge? 

You can set reminders in your journal, planner, phone, whatever you use, to remind yourself to act on your challenge daily! You can even create a 7-day tracker for yourself and hang it on your bathroom mirror or front door so you can see it before leaving out. Try writing it on sticky notes and placing them in common areas, too. Whatever works for you! 

If you need to be held accountable, ask a friend or family member to help you out. Ask them to remind you or question your progress for the day. My brother makes sure to check in on my progress daily, so I don’t have to worry about forgetting a day lol
