Ipsy came early this month so it’s time for a review. I’m still waiting on my BoxyCharm to be delivered but as soon as that comes in you’ll see exactly what I got. Let’s see what the Good Vibes are this month.
If you don’t know about Ipsy, it’s a beauty sample subscription created by Michelle Phan that features 4-5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. If you get the monthly subscription, it’s only $10 per month! You do fill out a beauty profile so your hand-picked items arrive to fit your beauty personality!
Good Vibes with Ipsy
Every month I can’t wait to see what I’ll be getting in my Ipsy bag. This month was no different. I don’t know about you but as soon as I see the bag(s) and the new theme, I try to guess what the products will consist of. This month I was too excited worrying about which bag I was going to actually get, so I didn’t worry about the products. This months theme, as you can tell, is Good Vibes Only and the bags were all beautiful but I was eyeing only one.
Luckily I got the exact bag I wanted!
The ombre sunset and glitter Lipstick font definitely give me good vibes each time I look at it. This will probably become my fall cosmetics case. It’s a bit bigger than the normal Ipsy bags too!
Now let’s get to the items!
Hey Honey Propolis & Minerals Facial Scrub
The main ingredient in this scrub is Propolis extract (a healing and anti-inflammatory compound produced by bees). It helps dissolve residue, minimize the look of pores, hydrate, and brighten up your skin.
– Quote from Ipsy. $24.00 on HeyHoney.com
This time I was able to try all the products from the Good Vibes bag upon opening it so I have full reviews for you. This facial scrub is very gentle on the skin, smooth, and smells literally like mangos! I didn’t feel any tingle or burning with this scrub even with the mineral crystals so this is absolutely a win for me. Simply massage this scrub gently on your face until most of the crystals are dissolved, then rinse with cool water. It’ll feel like a lotion going on and your face will be smooth.
Excessive Lash Arresting Volume Mascara by Make Up For Ever
More on that brush: It’s a blend of soft and hard fibers. The mixture allows you to layer on the formula and build up your lashes while combing through to nix clumps.
– $25.00 on Makeupforever
I have a love/hate vibe with this mascara. I love the brush, I can get my lashes much easier as the brush is thinner and longer than what I’m used to. It get’s my bottom lashes SO WELL, which I have problems getting to without making a mess. However, I had to use my Better Than Sex Mascara on top of this because it clumped my lashes horribly.
Firma Beauty 103 Angled Contour Brush
It’s angled to trace the curves of your face without leaving harsh zebra stripes.
The soft synthetic bristles hold powder without any spillage.
– This brush is only $14.99 at Firma Beauty
Okay, I might’ve told a fib earlier. I didn’t use this brush yet. I meant to, but I ended up using my old contour brush just because I honestly forgot I had a new one. However! The bristles are very soft, it’s nicely dense, but it spreads enough to be used for a highlighting brush! The best thing about this brush is the aesthetic! It’s gorgeous!!
Marc Anthony Strictly Curls
this soya bean and avocado oil cream kept our coils defined, bouncy, shiny, and fuzz-free
– You can get it at Walgreens, CVS, ULTA, and RiteAid for $8.29
My frizz problem is a huge problem and I say this every time I get a new hair product that helps frizz. I tried this first on semi-straightened hair that honestly needed a wash. The curls came out really well, and it was the only product I used! My hair was soft, had shine, bounce, and my frizz was minimal. I am currently setting more twists with this product on freshly washed hair. I haven’t used any other product this time either so we will see how the results are in a few days when I take my twists down!
theBalm Voyage Vol. 2 Eyeshadow in Willkommen
a deep caramel shade, perfect for creating boho-inspired looks
– Get the whole face palette for $39.50 at theBalm.
I really like theBalm products, however, this shade barely showed up on me. It’s a beautiful rich brown with some glimmer and shimmer but it’s just too close to my natural skin tone to give me a good pop. Other than that, I love the pickup and creaminess of the shadow! It is very pigmented with a few swipes! I still recommend this!
What are your thoughts on this month’s Ipsy Glam bag? Do you get good vibes from the products?
