I’m here today with a sort of new topic (not really) and it has changed the way I sleep. If you’re like me and have shared quarters, then you may or may not get enough quality sleep.
I know for me personally shared the living room with my family and our dog, Samson, it’s a long shot at getting a good nights rest (especially when you choose to sleep on the couch).
Reader, meet Bedtime Bliss. Bedtime Bliss, this is Reader.
Since living with my grandparents I have been sleeping in the living room with my family. This has been a feat of itself. Since my brother was born (I was 6 years old), I’ve had my own room and own space. Now I’m forced to share my sleeping space with 3 other people. It’s difficult, it’s a challenge, but it’s what I have to deal with for now.
My family is very talkative at night and they love the lights being on until 3 or 4 in the morning. I hate lights being on and if I could live in the dark 24/7 I definitely would. My bedtime is honestly around 9 or 10pm as I wake up around 7am every day. It’s what my body is used to.
Sharing the sleeping space has prevented me from going to bed and staying sleep. That is, until I went ahead and purchased Bedtime Bliss.
I was skeptical about this sleep mask because I’ve never used one before and I don’t like tight things on my head (which, for a natural black woman is a challenge. My headscarves never stay on and my bonnet gives me headaches quite a bit). I did what I do best and read as much of the comments as I could on this before making the purchase and they were all giving praise to how well this fit and worked for them so, needless to say I made the purchase.
I bought mine directly from Amazon as I have Student Prime and get free 2 day shipping.
My sleep mask actually arrived one day later and early in the morning. I was pleasantly shocked.
The box was very nice and brand new. The packaging is very nice too (unfortunately I don’t have the packaging anymore because honestly this post was created on a whim).
How well does it work?
I’m going to be absolutely honest. It helped me get a deeper nights rest and I barely moved. I slept so good the first night. I immediately fell in love with it. I don’t use the earplugs that come with it because they don’t help me. They quiet the noise but don’t cancel it out so I stick to my music to fall asleep to.
I admit I felt a little silly for wearing them because they aren’t the best looking or cutest sleep mask but they get the job done therefore, I don’t care anymore. I’ve had them since October 27th, and I have no shame in them anymore. I lent them to my mom for a night because she had a migraine. She was out like a light after wearing them for 5 minutes, literally.
If you have any trouble getting and staying asleep I highly recommend these babies! They’re only $12 on Amazon, and if you don’t have Prime, you can sign up for a 30 day trial!
Do you have trouble sleeping? Do you use a sleep mask?
Thanks for reading!
