What Beauties on Fire is:
Beauties on Fire is a brand new collaboration with a whole lot of beauties that are fierce, fine, and fired up about all things beauty and fashion. The collaboration is a link up post (which you are free to join in on, if you’d like! Just email Elisabeth: firstname.lastname@example.org and let her know you’d like to join) in which all the beauties in this group will post about our picked theme of the week (which will be voted on by all of our subscribers, readers, and viewers)! For example, if our readers voted on the topic of “fire,” beauty bloggers would come up with a look themed from fire and fashion bloggers would do a style themed from fire!
Here is the poll for our first theme!

Introduction: Laqing In Creativity
Tell us a little about your blog and why you decided to start blogging.
Laqing In Creativity is for the individuals who, like me, have so much imagination that they have a difficult time getting it out into the world. I have always been a creative person but as I got older, I realized it was harder for me to get my creativity out of my head and into the world, hence my blog name. It isn’t that I have no creativity or imagination, it’s just that I have a hard time getting it out. I changed the spelling of “lacking” because, well honestly “laqing” just looked so…luxurious. I also chose the spelling because I wanted people to see my brand and think “Wow, that’s pretty creative!” and I truly hope that is the message people get.
How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging since August of 2015. I have had a few other blogs before that but honestly, there’s no need to go down that horrible, and dreadful, past. 🙂
Do you consider yourself a fashion blogger, beauty blogger, or both?
I consider myself both. I am mainly a lifestyle blog because I love to cover a lot of areas of life, not just focus on one (I honestly have tried that, even with my baking, and it’s just something I cannot do. My attention span for ONE category is just…no. It wont work). So to answer the above question, I consider myself both fashion and beauty. I am working to make better fashion choices (since I can’t yet afford my real fashion style) and learning how to dress my body type. I am also a beginner in makeup (literally started wearing and seriously applying makeup New Years day 2016) but I think I am learning pretty well so you will see more beauty than fashion for now!
List 3 things you love to do besides blogging
- I bake. I own Shai’s Bakery and I am trying to get it into the world of success. Baking became one of my passionate hobbies in 2012 when I started making my own Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe and received praised from family for it.
- I read. I actually have given myself a goal of 10 books this year, I am halfway through my goal already (My current obsession is The Infernal Devices series, I am now on book 3). Reading is a great way for me to relax and immerse myself in another world, through another set of eyes.
- I research. A lot. I want to be successful in all that I do, so I study the greats and try to become greater. I am in university for Small Business Administration (class of 2019) but I study a lot of topics on my own. I am a lover of all things space & astrology, I have a slight interest in the supernatural world, and I am always mentally acting out scenarios of too many different alternate universes, featuring myself and whatever characters from my current or favorite books I am reading.
Describe your style.
My beauty style is very calm, I would say. I love a dramatic eye, though! But I like to feel as though I don’t have on makeup. There are days when I want to be all glamorous and do big falsies, dark lip, and dramatic shadows, but most of the time (when I am not recording a look for my YouTube), I just go with a natural look, some lipstick/gloss/carmex (I live by Carmex), some eye liner (usually pencil) and mascara.
Beauty product you can’t live without.
My favorite beauty product I would have to admit is eyeliner! I just started using liquid liner literally about 2 months ago and now that I am getting pretty good with the stroke, it’s become one of my favorites! It gives such a dramatic change to the eyes without looking so overdone (if applied correctly, I have learned this the hard way! LOL). Oh, and carmex! Honestly, it’s the best thing in the world and living in a desert, like I do, you NEED some carmex.
Here are some of my favorite beauty pictures of this year!
And that’s that! I am so honored and excited to be a part of this wonderful collaboration with all of the beauties joining me! Don’t forget to check out the rest of the beauties blogs and posts! Also I am so happy we have our main photo thanks to one of our own beauties, Andi!
